What I’ve been up to today! Finished this blanket in half a day, and pretty happy with the result too! The only tricky part was aligning and sewing the two fabric..since the fleece and cotton have different characteristics: stretchiness (I pinned A LOT and it still gave me trouble..the fleece stretched and then to compensate I gathered here and there a bit— ah well  :p ), the thickness of the combined fabric also troubled the sewing machine  (thickness is interfering with the feeder). But, for my first it is definitely not a fail, and Lanang loves..! In a way it’s a multfunction blankie: the fleece is warm, yet the cotton side is very cool! ;) *nap time*

Matching fleece shawls and hat for Lanang and Papayo’s winter attire, finished! ;) The shawls are no sew, the hat only zig zag and minor hand sewing.

I know. It’s only August and everybody is posting beaches and picnics and hanging on to summer for dear life. But eversince I got the idea, I just couldn’t wait to see it on them. Plus Papayo is packed already, and… I don’t mean to rub it in but we have beaches and sun all year round  ;)

Eyang Titi is currently on a house re-organizing project, and she found and old stash of #fabric that she collected for my brother’s bed covers and blankets projects. We are talking about another 20 year old stash here and they are in prime condition!! Thomas & friends, Sesame Street, and a verrry cute cars/busses themed fabric…that you will definitely see in my next #sewing projects!! Sooo inspired! XD (Taken with Instagram)
