I read a post on another parenting blog today on how some friends of theirs have changed and even alienated them eversince a baby came into their lives. Well, I guess its bound to happen to some of your friends, let’s not think of it as being offensive..maybe seeing you move along faster then they are makes them think a lot in an uncomfortable way.
That really makes me feel thankful for the friends I have here in Bali, our friendship just seems to cruise smoothly weekend after weekend. You know who you are, my weekend buddies! Yup, I have a group of friends that meet up on weekends and go wherever or do whatever.
We’ve been on road trips exploring beaches around Bali, snorkling; rented out a villa in Ubud just to get complained by our neighbors on how noise we were..and a bunch of other fun (classified) stuff.heheh
After Lanang came we were off the radar for a while, but after he was old enough to go out you all were happy enough to change our routine a bit: hanging out used to mean afternoons and late night hangouts. Now they mean brunches and afternoon sunsets at beachside hangouts. (Except for the karaoke nights we still have to have!) :D
My precious, precious friends. Thank you for making Bali such a memorable place for our little family.
There is a huge community of parents who used the Parenting category on the original directory as a hub. It was a place for us to find each other to talk, share ideas and stories, debate parenting issues and, yes, brag about how fucking awesome our babies look.
