Just waiting till 3 o’clock where me and Lanang will be lounging by the beach with a couple of friends..
About last week I was browsing through DIY projects and found a cute, do-able project which I no longer can find the link to.. *sigh* so today while waiting, I tried to do with with what I remembered and tried to make Lanang a pair of “shoes”. I decided to ‘sacrifice’ one of Lanang’s old top and tummy warmer and cut it to the size of a shoe that fit him.
Well, after I finished one of the shoes, like so; I put it on Lanang and did it fit perfectly….NOT.hahahah The front was to short, the top part was widely opened, and the heel was baggy.
Lanang also wasn’t amused.
anyway, next week (if) I have time I’ll continue, it’ll be easier now that I have a pattern that I can modify from (hopefully). Now, to close the post with cutie here:
P.S.: just now I found the link to the tutorial, yaay! ——>
I’m having a mellow moment: in bed watching Lanang play and papayo sleeping. Papa is tired of today’s little trip to Ubud, and he’s flying to Jakarta tonight. Yup he’ll be there till Tuesday. I don’t know why I’m complaining since a lot of ppl out there are living in different cities from their loved ones and only get to see their child and/or spouse every couple of months; but nevertheless.. I’m missing him already. :(
"Husbands always get to be the 'fun' parent, its cr*p."
I just read this on an online parenting forum and thought it was so funny!! For the (almost) six months of Lanang’s life, he’s laughed a whole lot more with his dad, I wonder if this is a sign of what’s to come….LOL
As much as I would like it…no, not yet.haha (Does your daughter..?? Now I would really envy that!)
He still wakes up once or twice during the night. I put him to sleep on his own bed at about 7.30 or 8. I continue to eat dinner, watch TV or whatever, and he wakes up again about midnight-ish. Usually he just wants to feed, or comfort; so I bring him to my bed to feed. Most of the time when I fall back asleep quicker than him, he just sleeps with us until morning. But when I really need a good rest and want more space to stretch then I put him back on his bed (which is right beside mine). Strangely, on the nights I put him back on his bed, he would mostly wake up again. On the nights I let him sleep with us, he would rarely wake up for the second time. So I guess it’s more space vs. longer stretches of time sleeping! :D
For all of you out there not following him yet, here’s a glimpse of my husband..hehe :p but its in Indonesian not English :) I kind of agree with him, that while there are people out there that are idealistic about how they live, and really do care about the environment, most of the others are just “latah” and unrealistic..! Eating organic food and buying LEDs but drive imported private cars, wear imported “organic cotton tops”. My guess is they have no idea what carbon footprint is!
Hello, I was wondering how old your son is?! He's such a cutie :) I can't believe he lifted his butt! He's ready to crawl? I'm waiting for the day my daughter will start lifting that butt of hers
My son will be 6 months in precisely one week..on February 2nd! :) Yes he’s been lifting his butt since one month ago about Christmas, but hasn’t started crawling yet.. How old is your daughter? Exciting isn’t it.. expecting milestone by milestone and enjoying it ;)
I realized today I haven’t really posted a decent post on how things are going, most of this blog are, well..pictures. :p
I just failed again tonight to put Lanang to bed by himself a.k.a. not sleeping in my arms. I breastfed him, and when he was finished and drowsy I put him on the bed and positioned him to hug the ‘guling’ (what’s the english word for this anyways?haha). Well, he closed his eyes for half a minute, and then when I thought we had succeed, he opened his eyes and started to watch his own hands..seemed pretty amazed by his own twiddling fingers. For a moment I thought he was going to fall back to sleep by himself again, but of course not. He started to roll about and finally saw us where my and hubby were sleeping, and just gave us the biggest grin..whereafter we couldn’t do anything else but pick him up and cuddle him! Ha! *and I wonder why we fail*
I just can’t get myself to try the ‘cry it out’ method, I don’t think it’s the best for his trust to us..and also well ofcourse the neighbors won’t be happy.haha
Well, we’re really looking forward to start him on solids this weekend! His actual 6th month birthday is on February 2nd, but the 24th week (6 x 4weeks) is passed already and I think its better to start it on a weekend since we’re thinking of doing Baby Led Weaning..!
So you’ll all see more about that soon..good night you guys, cuddle up.
