Woo-hoo! Today is officially the end of my first week back to the office!! Bye-bye midday naps, hello overtime :D Well, actually since my boss is so nice I think he’s actually taking care that I don’t do as many overtime as before..and that is so very nice of him. I don’t get why people often mistakenly think he’s the man version of devil wears Prada, but, well thats another story. :p
Anyways, during this week I have successfully drove home (yup, that less than 10 minutes drive) every lunch break to nurse Lanang. And its been suchhh a treat!! Imagine working on your computer screen staring at a black background with various lines of multiple colours (yup, hello again CAD), and then..lunch break! And I return home (at least for a while) to the comfort of my bed, holding and nursing my dear baby. Talk about anti-stress!
Lanang has been such a good boy during the day, just like his usual self. Alhamdulillah.. ;) The only problem we’re having is, we’re running low on expressed breast milk, since he’s drinking more than I can express during the day at the office..so I think soon we’ll have to return to supplementing with formula.
Yup, “return” as in I’ve managed to exclusively breastfeed him since a few weeks ago! :D no-problemo, some breast milk is still better than none.. and I’m still planning to go as far as I can with breastfeeding.
I consider my self lucky, not many women have the same supporting facilities in ther office like I do here. When I express my BM, it is in a lovely, clean, spacious, marbled (not that it’s important, but I’m just being descriptive here okay.LOL) bathroom. We have a refrigerator with a deep freezer also (again, I will not be needing this, still, its a pretty big fridge :p ) to store my expressed milk. Although I’ve been keeping it this week only in my cooler bag with ice, since the fridge is broken right now!
Funny story about this, on my first day the clueless office-boy told me to go store my milk in the fridge in the Cafe!LOL (my boss/office owns a cafe up front in our office). That first day I ended up asking them for ice, and the next days I’ve been bringing ice from home, but I think I’m buying some blue ice this weekend..
Now I’m at home, Lanang blissfully sleeping. So, I’m off to get something to eat! Mommy wants some nyam-nyam.
